I tried to submit an application online, but received a message saying an application is already on file with this e-mail address. What do I do?
This means that we already have a profile for you, so you do not need to complete the application form again. You can login using that e-mail address and your password (see “I forgot my password” below for more information), then update your information and/or apply to a specific position.
I forgot my password. Can you send it to me?
You can request your password at any time. Go to the careers page (www.msiworldwide.com/careers) and click “Log in to your resume profile.” under the “Previous Applicants” banner on the right side of the screen. You will then see where to click if you do not remember your password. The website will send your password to the email address we have on file for you.
What should I do if I experience technical difficulties while submitting my application?
Please try to submit your application at a later time. If you continue to receive an error message, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a detailed explanation of your problem and we will assist you as soon as possible.
Is it possible to upload additional documents such as a cover letters, writing samples or reference letters?
Yes; in addition to the CV, you can upload up to three (3) additional documents in the “Add Resume & Attachments” section. If you would like to upload additional attachments to an existing profile, log into your account, click “edit application,” and attach up to three (3) documents at a time under “Add Resume and Attachments.”
How do I update a resume that is already on file?
You can upload a new resume at any time by logging into your profile and clicking “Add Resume and Attachments” under the “Resume and Cover Letter” subheading. The new resume will automatically replace the one we previously had on file.
I saw a position advertised that I can’t find on your website. How do I apply for it?
If you do not see a position listed on our website, it has either been filled or closed. Positions often stay on external websites longer than it takes MSI to fill them. However, we recommend that you fill out a general application and check back on our careers website for other opportunities.
How do I know if you have successfully received my application?
You will receive an email message confirming that we have received your application. You will receive a separate email for each position for which you apply.
I applied for a position and would like to check on the status of my application. Is there a phone number I can call?
Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to each one individually. We will contact you if you are selected for an interview. You can also view the status of each individual position application by logging into your profile page.
What is the general timeframe for filling positions? Do you have closing dates?
We try to fill our positions as quickly as possible with the most qualified applicant. We encourage applicants to apply to open positions at their earliest convenience. We do not put closing dates on our positions.
If I am not selected for a position, will you keep my information in your database and consider me for other positions?
Absolutely. All information that you submit to our website is stored in our database, and we search our database regularly. However we encourage applicants to check our website often and to attach their names to specific positions in order to be considered for positions of particular interest to them.
Do MSI’s positions have citizenship requirements?
There are often citizenship requirements for certain positions and we are sure to list them prominently in each advertisement. For positions at MSI headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, work authorization is required.
When is the best time to apply to the internship program?
We accept interns on a rolling basis and so it is always a good time to apply for our internship program. The typical internship contract lasts three (3) months from the start date, with the possibility of renewal in 3-month increments.
Do you sponsor U.S. work visas for headquarters positions?
In almost all cases, we require current U.S. work authorization for our headquarters positions and list this in the relevant advertisements.
I’d like to address my cover letter to an individual. How do I find the recruiter or hiring manager’s name?
Please feel free to use a general salutation for your cover letter as we have several staff members involved in each recruitment process.
May I drop off my resume in person/mail a hard copy/fax my application?
Due to US government equal employment reporting regulations, MSI accepts applications only via our website.
I would like to visit and/or speak with someone regarding my interest. How do I schedule an informational interview?
Unfortunately, MSI is not able to accommodate informational interview requests. We will reach out to short-listed candidates to discuss the positions in more detail, and would be happy to answer any questions about the position and the company at that time.
