MSI Careers

Management Systems International is an international development firm that draws on the dedication and substantial expertise of our staff to provide innovative, hands-on technical assistance around the world. Since our founding in 1981, we have continued to grow in size and scope. In 2008, MSI joined Coffey International Development, one of several specialist businesses of Coffey International Limited. Coffey IL is one of the top 300 publicly traded companies on the Australia Stock Exchange. Together, we now have over 1,350 staff across 200 projects worldwide and corporate offices in 10 countries.

MSI’s employees represent a wide spectrum of languages, cultures and countries. Our more than 160 headquarters staff ranges from recent graduates to mid-career professionals to seasoned international development experts. The latter professionals enjoy global reputations as technical and thought leaders in their fields. While we regularly welcome new employees, MSI is also fortunate to have many staff members who have been with our company for 10, 15 and 20 or more years.

In addition to our reputation for technical and program excellence, MSI is also known for our unique, floating offices. The majority of our DC-based staff is housed on a series of 11 houseboats, named the 1st through 10th Wave after Samuel Huntington’s and Alvin Toffler’s influential books, both named The Third Wave. Docked at Washington, D.C.’s Southwest Waterfront and half a mile from the new Nationals baseball stadium, our offices are a short walk from the Waterfront Metro Station, Maine Avenue Fish Market, SW Riverwalk and Titanic Memorial. We also maintain a land office at the marina and smaller project offices in Dupont Circle.

At MSI we are committed to the work that we do and to making MSI an enjoyable work environment. We strive, as a firm and as individuals, to promote and embody an unflagging commitment to excellence, transparency, and personal responsibility, and to leave a world better than the one we inherited.
