The MSI Center for Governmental Integrity is recognized for its innovative work in combating corruption. Improving Management of Sierra Leone’s Diamond Sector
Diamond policy reform in Sierra Leone originated as part of the United States Government’s support to the Lome Peace Accord in 1999. Building on the policy initiatives that emerged from USAID/OTI’s assistance, the Diamond Policy and Management (DIPAM) project, implemented by MSI, created a platform for deeper and more sustainable policy reform in the diamond sector. MSI also implemented the field-oriented Peace Diamond Alliance Support Project (PDA), which provided both a grass-roots source of vital policy input and a laboratory for policy implementation initiatives.
