Zambia Project Surpasses PEPFAR Goals with MSI Tool

MSI Project Manager Lauren Parks discusses the Zambia Local Partners Capacity Building (LPCB) project, which launched in 2008, and MSI’s Institutional Development Framework (IDF) that helps strengthen local capacity.

MSI’s LPCB project trained more than 2,500 individuals to promote HIV/AIDS prevention programs, far exceeding the estimated 200-person goal established by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

The team served 72,000 people on HIV prevention, nearly doubling the amount that PEPFAR targeted.

“What’s unique about this program is that in addition to the normal workshops and seminars that we offer on leadership, development, financial management and HR systems, we’ve also assigned organization development facilitators to each of these partners so that they can be walked through a process of growth and development,” Parks said.
