Barbara James

Expertise:

Barbara James is Chief of Party of the USAID/Partnership Against Corruption in North Macedonia. She has over 25 years of experience as a development practitioner focusing on rule of law, anti-corruption, civil society, good governance, and program management. Barbara has successfully designed, managed, and implemented numerous governance and development programs in Armenia, Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Tajikistan. Additionally, she has provided development programming through the EU, Danida, KfW Development Bank, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, DFID, and SIDA. Barbara is also a lawyer and an academic, having taught and managed programming at Georgetown University and has a bachelor’s degree from Vassar College and Juris Doctorate from Northern Kentucky University. She is fluent in Russian and speaks Ukrainian.
