Christy Martins

Expertise:
Christy Martins is an international development practitioner with 18 years of experience, including eight years overseas. Her technical area of focus is stabilization and peacebuilding, and she has experience working on USAID programs globally. In her current role as practice area lead, she provides leadership and guidance to MSI’s peace and stability initiatives and oversees a technical team responsible for the management of conflict prevention and stabilization projects in Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Her technical qualifications include inclusive community-led development, social cohesion, political transitions, and adaptive management. As a former Chief of Party on USAID’s Sri Lanka Reintegration and Stabilization in the East and North (RISEN) program and a multi-time Acting Chief of Party elsewhere, she brings a field-driven focus to her leadership of the practice area. She holds an M.A. in international development from American University and is a former adjunct instructor for the Center for International Development and Conflict Management at the University of Maryland.
