Internships

We are pleased to have a year-round, paid internship program that provides interested early career professionals the opportunity to gain practical skills in various aspects of international development.

Interns support various teams and departments within MSI, including project management, strategic communications, business development, financial management, and technical practice areas.

Interns can work up to 35 hours per week on a flexible schedule that works best for them and their supervisor.

We fill many of our entry-level openings from our current or past internship pool, making MSI a great place to start a development career!

Make a Real Contribution
MSI interns make substantial contributions to the projects and teams they work on. Hear from some of our intern supervisors about the impact current and past interns have had.
The Financial Management Team intern [supports] us with simple to moderate budget tracker fixes... elaborating on training draft documents for project management teams, and other tasks as they come up. This frees up time for the rest of the team to work on more complex tasks.
Sean Carmody
Director, Project Financial Management
Our interns serve as reverse mentors for me and MSI. They bring a fresh perspective, ask questions that we sometimes take for granted, and are an energetic set of hands. Our interns have... helped us see our important global work with a new set of eyes and ears.
Ellen Yount
Vice President
Working closely with interns has been a highlight of my time at MSI. Our interns come from a wide range of backgrounds and offer a perspective that adds to the fabric of diversity at MSI. Our interns get real, hands-on experience with initiatives that impact our business.
